Akeneo is an enterprise-grade PIM, open source at its core, used by mid-market and large retailers to centralise product data across catalogues, locales and channels. The model is opinionated: families, attributes, categories and channels. Getting the model right is the integration work.
Patchworks connects Akeneo through its REST API and standard import jobs. Outbound, Akeneo syndicates products and media to ecommerce platforms, marketplaces and DAMs. Inbound, supplier feeds, ERP item masters and translation services keep Akeneo current. The wrinkles are usually in the rules: which channel sees which attribute, how locale fallbacks work, when a variant axis changes meaning across families.
We design the syndication rules with the merchandising and product teams, not just the data engineers, so the PIM ends up matching how the business actually sells.
